 BLUES SCALE

The Blues Scale is a jazz scale with an identity all its own. A characteristic of the Blues Scale that is so attractive to the beggining pianist is that, once this scale is learned, it sounds great when played with all three chords in the basic blues form. In other words, one scale sounds great and can be played over the entire form.

Here is the C blues scale:

C Eb F Gb G Bb C

Of course, a certain amout of initiative and creativity will make for more interesting sounds. That said, getting involved with the Blues is a very popular way to get started when learning the piano.

Of course, playing the Blues goes beyond playing one scale exclusively. But that's the great thing about learning the piano and being involved with music - there's always more to learn! Jazz Piano For Beginners will give you a great kickstart when it comes to learning more about blues piano. In addition, it provides great food for thought beyond the topic of blues piano.
